This session will share stories and strategies for reimagining underutilized corridors as treasured spaces with the power to recalibrate how communities move, work, and play. Inspirations include the Atlanta Beltline, Seattle’s Eastside Greenway, and the Trust for Public Land experience of reclaiming corridors, from simple interventions to realizing city-shaping visions

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to design and build support for grand visions that re-imagine underutilized urban corridors.
  • Realize the potential of corridor projects as catalysts for ecology, culture, and art.
  • Consider how to navigate acquisition, design, wayfinding, and “branding” with multiple stakeholders and agencies.
  • Understand the value of community support and coalition building to drive project outcomes.
