Joe Salaices has been with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks for 39 years. His current role is Superintendent of the Departments Griffith Region. His duties include oversight of operations in Griffith Park, which includes the Park Ranger Division and the Emergency Response Team, including Homeless Coordination.
In 2015, Joe represented the City of Los Angeles, Recreation and Parks Department at the highly successful Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative Summit. The Summit was the foundation to the adopted “No Wrong Door” policy, leading to the voter supported Measure H.
Currently, Joe represents the Department at the City of Los Angeles Homeless Strategy Committee. Supporting other City Departments in holistically challenging homeless living within the park system.Joe obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
