Shades of Green Landscape Architecture

Akiko Ono, ASLA leads design projects at Shades of Green Landscape Architecture in CA and has taught at UC Berkeley & UC Davis. Originally hailing from Japan with degrees in Comparative Cultures and Architectural History, Akiko decided to pursue landscape architecture as a medium for working “in-between” - between theory and practice and nature and culture, etc. With 16 years of experience, Akiko has led international and local projects at varied scales. Akiko approaches landscape as a realm where the circle of life including biological, social and cultural cycles are embraced, from birth, to growth and even into decay.
