Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates

Michael founded MVVA in 1982 and oversees the design work of the Brooklyn and Cambridge offices at all scales. As part of that design work he devotes time to mentoring junior design staff. Michael’s most prominent projects include Mill Race Park, Teardrop Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Monk’s Garden at the Isabela Stewart Gardener Museum, and many projects at Princeton, Harvard, Wellesley College and Amherst College. Martin Richard Park in Boston is a current commission. He also is the Charles Eliot Professor in Practice of Landscape Architecture at Harvard University, where he has taught for over thirty years.
