Andrea Parker ASLA

Executive Director, Gowanus Canal Conservancy

Andrea Parker serves as the Executive Director of Gowanus Canal Conservancy, a community based non-profit that advocates for and stewards ecologically sustainable parks and public spaces in the Gowanus lowlands while empowering a community of stewards. As an instructor at CCNY, she engages landscape architecture students with NYC’s complex urban ecology. Prior work as a landscape designer focused on community resilience after Superstorm Sandy, and as a gardener on building urban native plant communities. Parker received a BA from University of Chicago, studied Landscape Horticulture at Merritt College, and received a Masters in Landscape Architecture from University of Virginia.
