Kurt Culbertson FASLA, FAICP

Chairman/CEO, Design Workshop

Chairman/CEO of Design Workshop, Kurt received his BLA from LSU, an MBA from SMU, and a PhD from the Edinburgh College of Art. He is a former Fulbright scholar, and a fellow of ASLA, AICP, the Urban Design Forum, and Dumbarton Oaks. A, past Chair of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Young Presidents Organization, he received the ASLA Medal in 2016.

His research interests include biography of George Kessler and the contribution of German-Americans and Scandinavian-Americans to the development of American landscape architecture. Culbertson’s most recent work focuses upon the application of patch dynamics theory toward an ecology of cities.
