Kendra Hyson ASLA

Co-Founder, The Urban Studio

Kendra Hyson is a trained landscape architect, working with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) as a Senior Planner. She is also the Co-Founder of the Urban Studio, a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance design-thinking for equitable and sustainable urbanism. Fueled by a desire for equity and inclusivity within the design professions, Kendra’s work is focused on expanding the scope of how landscapes develop in urban areas through empowering communities of color with design. She holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Spelman College and an MLA from the University of Arizona.
