Deborah Deets ASLA

Watershed Protection Division, LA Sanitation

Her first career in urban agriculture, and second in city government, Deborah's interests as a landscape architect are dedicated to water. She authored one of seven of the nation’s first stormwater standard plans using landscape architecture as the functional bridge between nature and city infrastructure.  She oversaw a seven-year collaborative academic project integrating GIS selection methodology proposing street restorations as urban tributaries, and best stormwater management practices as urban development to bring LA’s natural sub-watersheds into balance; with the goal of realizing visions of those to whom nature and infrastructure are personal means of achieving peace, and sustainability.
