Contract Components: Review and Negotiation

Back to Package

Contracts document the scope of services and compensation agreed upon by the client and the landscape architect for a particular project. They also help in managing the landscape architect's legal risk and exposure to professional liability. ASLA offers various forms of contract between landscape architects and their clients and these forms are good places to start. However, clients frequently offer their own contract forms, which require review and negotiation of terms and conditions. This session will address what to exclude, what to include and why.
