Three multidisciplinary designers explore the representation of planting beyond the plan. Fueled by advancements in visualization, alternative planting design modes can positively impact the evolution of planted systems. Using case studies with diverse clients, scales, and sites, attendees will gain an understanding of innovative ways of communicating planting design.
Learning objectives:
- Become familiar with additional means of planting design representation and communication beyond the planting plan.
- Learn strategies for communicating planting design intent and complex ecological processes to diverse audiences, tailored to a range of scales.
- Learn multiple ways to communicate planting design intent through different phases of design, installation, pre- and post-occupational studies, and ongoing maintenance.
- Reflect on your practices and perspectives and their potential biases, and assess how these may shape planting design and representational intent in your work.
