Concrete is a ubiquitous building material, relatively economical, adaptable, and maintainable, but it comes with a heavy environmental price tag. Since it's not departing anytime soon, we need to be smarter when designing with concrete and integrate practical steps that will reduce waste, improve longevity, and include eco-friendly mixes into projects.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn about practical and effective ways to reduce concrete waste in a project.
  • Delve into techniques that can extend the longevity and maintainability of concrete in your projects.
  • Look at ways to reduce the carbon cost of cast-in-place concrete.
  • Raise your awareness of types of more sustainable concrete that are available in the market and practical to specify.
