Landscape architects are taking the world by storm by designing everything from school communities, to skateboard parks, healing gardens, zoos, resorts, museums, aquariums, and theme parks like Disney World and Legoland.
The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) wants to introduce students to the exciting world of landscape architecture with its first-ever PreK-12 Summit for students. The two-day virtual Summit, entitled DREAM BIG with Design, is the perfect kick-off event for the 2021-2022 school year.
ASLA DREAM BIG with Design will showcase landscape architecture and hands-on PreK-12 learning sessions for students through a dynamic forum among PreK-12 educators and ASLA members from across the country.

Connecting Landscape Architecture Through PreK-5 Literature and Storytelling will include books published and read by ASLA members and staff. Readings will be led in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and American Sign Language.

In this session, presenters will share what it is that landscape architects often do, as a profession, and more detailed information on how this fun profession can get even MORE fun when you get to design Theme Parks! The main feature of this session is work done at LEGOLAND, Florida including masterplanning and designing hardscapes and landscapes for a park designed for kids and families! Well, Somebody has to do it!

The Landscape Architecture Studio of Imagineering is tasked to design the exterior spaces for lands and major attractions at all 12 Disney parks worldwide. This presentation will share what it takes for these landscape architects and designers to create highly detailed environments. Whether the project is to construct a physical world from an animated film or to conjure a new planet on the edge of the galaxy, these landscape architects set the stage for each guest to have an immersive and magical experience.
