Landscape architects are innovators and rule breakers—and we are shifting the stereotype of government employees. Hear from three female landscape architects playing distinct intrapreneurial roles within their respective municipalities—San Francisco, Portland, Charlotte—and how they achieve radical outcomes from within local government.
Learning objectives:
- Learn why “Possibility Government” is a necessary piece of successful project delivery and its key role in advancing healthy and vibrant communities.
- Identify the challenges and opportunities of an entrepreneurial approach within local government.
- Learn the fundamental aspects that contribute to a creative team, collaborative community partnerships, visionary goals, project expectations and financial drivers in governmental processes.
- Craft a roadmap for private design firms to navigate processes and bureaucracy when working with the government as a client.
