What does it mean to move a practice from entrepreneurship to stasis to reimagination to reinvention? How can this process, if managed with foresight, create the opportunity for innovation and for an even stronger voice? Case studies of prominent, diverse firms will provide actionable steps to successful firm evolution.

Learning objectives:

  • Getting Started: Learn strategies for a long-term approach to successfully preparing for firm succession that help meet both personal and business goals.
  • One Size Does Not Fit All: Become familiar with the different entity structures, valuation methods and financing options each speaker's company employed and how it impacted succession planning and outcomes.
  • Invest in HUMAN Resources: Learn the critical importance of including emerging leaders in the transition process and how talent assessment, development, compensation and DEI solidifies the next generation of leadership.
  • Have a Plan: Understand how creating a supportive atmosphere to discuss change while concurrently loosening the reins can help confirm that one's legacy isn't left to chance.
