Leading and Succeeding at Construction Administration

Back to Package

Construction administration (CA) is the phase that we as a profession most often overlook. Landscape architects often fail to allocate the proper leadership emphasis, personnel experience, time, effort, and corresponding fees needed to make sure the vision is realized in the built environment. In this session, we will discuss considerations that leaders need to make for the CA phase, such as building the right team, understanding the level of effort the project is going to take, the importance of developing relationships with the entire construction team, and considerations for building fees that will realistically cover your effort. We'll also talk about the need to educate clients on the importance of the designer's role in the CA phase, and finally, how to maximize the effectiveness of your CA efforts.
